Family Therapy

Families are made up of individuals with their own experiences, emotions, and ways of coping—and sometimes that complexity can make it hard to feel connected. Family therapy offers a space for each voice to be heard while working toward shared understanding and more supportive dynamics. We welcome all types of families, including adoptive, foster, blended, LGBTQIA+, multiracial, and chosen families.

Why Families Come to Therapy

Families seek therapy for many reasons, and you don’t have to be in crisis to benefit. Common reasons include:

  • Constant conflict or difficulty communicating

  • Emotional distance or breakdowns in trust

  • Navigating major changes like divorce, adoption, illness, or grief

  • Identity-based misunderstandings (e.g. race, gender, sexuality, neurodivergence)

  • Parenting challenges, behavioral concerns, or sibling tension

  • Support for attachment or relationship repair after trauma or transitions

We know that family struggles are rarely about just one person—they’re about patterns, stressors, and histories that deserve compassion and curiosity.

How we Work

We take a non-blaming, relational approach that focuses on helping families work with each other, not against each other. Our therapists are trained in family systems theory, trauma-informed care, and identity-affirming practices. We help each family member feel seen, while also working toward greater connection, emotional safety, and clarity in the family as a whole.

We draw from a variety of modalities including:

Ya pensamos el mundo de ti.

La vida no es fácil. Todos hemos tenido a alguien que nos recuerda eso durante un tiempo de lucha. Lo que olvidaron decirte es que tener experiencias difíciles en la vida no significa que estés condenado a luchar o sufrir por ellas. Para eso estamos aquí.
